When a new client is created, they are given an initial state of "Pending Approval" or "Inactive." To set the initial state Update Controls under Admin>Manage Clients / Groups>Client / Group Controls>Update Controls
Pending Approval
Pending approval is a process of approving a client and it indicates that a client is undergoing an evaluation process. This process is separate from the process of approving a loan.
When a client is in this state, you cannot process any loan applications for them. They must be approved first. A client in this state can either be approved, rejected, or blacklisted. When a client is approved, their state changes to Inactive. To approve, reject or blacklist a client go to the client profile page.
Inactive
The inactive state applies to clients who do not have any active loans. This state can be used as an initial state for new clients, or it can be the state an existing client enters after they have passed their evaluation and been approved. An inactive client can also be a client that is not associated with any active loans. An inactive client can make loan applications.
A client in this state can either be blacklisted, considered as left or returned back to pending approval state. To blacklist a client, go to the client profile page and click the "Blacklist" button. To consider a client as left click the "Left" button, click the "Undo Approve" button to return to pending approval.
Active
Clients in active state are clients that have at least one Open or in Arrears loan.
Clients in this state can only be Blacklisted or state can return to Inactive only if there are no any active loans associated with this client. To blacklist, undo approve, or consider a client as left, go to the client profile page and click the appropriate button.
Rejected
The rejected state is for clients that did not pass an evaluation process while in the pending approval state.
For clients in this state you can only return to "Pending Approval". To undo reject, go to the client profile page and click the "Undo Rejection" button.
Left
The left state is for clients that are inactive. Clients in the left state cannot create new loans. Only inactive clients can go to the left state.
This state is for clients who no longer have active loans and do not wish to apply for new loans. You can prevent other system users from mistakenly issuing loans to these clients by putting them in the left state. When a client is ready to apply for new loans, you can undo this action. This state can also help you exclude these clients when sending promotional messages. Note that clients in this state can only be returned to inactive state. To undo left, go to the client profile page and click the "Undo Left" button.
Blacklisted
Clients who are blacklisted are not eligible for new loans. Clients who are in Pending Approval, Inactive, or Active status can be blacklisted.
Clients are blacklisted for various reasons, but the main reason is that they have been identified as posing a risk to the business due to their poor payment or credit history. Clients may also be blacklisted if they have engaged in fraudulent activity, violated company policies, or engaged in other behavior that could harm the company's reputation or financial stability.
Clients in this state can only be returned to the initial state that is set in the system, which can be "Pending Approval" or "Inactive." However, you can still update the client details and current loans. To undo Blacklist, go to the client profile page and click the "Undo Blacklist" button.
The client life cycle is the same as the group life cycle .:::
